Dear Met Engage Team,
Please be advised of a planned women’s safety engagement session to be delivered by Ilford Town Ward Safer Neighbourhood Team at All Bayan Welfare Centre Green Lane.
On Monday 19 January 2026 at 11:00am, officers will be delivering a women’s safety talk aimed at raising awareness and providing practical advice to support personal safety and crime prevention. The session will focus on empowering attendees with information and guidance in a supportive and accessible environment.
Topics covered during the session will include:
- An overview of the Met Engage platform, including how it can be used to receive local policing updates and share community concerns - Use of StreetSafe, including how to report locations where individuals feel unsafe - How to spot a thief, including common indicators of suspicious behaviour and theft prevention tips - General crime prevention advice, including personal safety, situational awareness, and protecting personal property
The session will be delivered in an engaging and informative manner, with opportunities for attendees to ask questions and raise any concerns. Officers will also provide reassurance and signpost attendees to further support and resources where appropriate.
This engagement forms part of Ilford Town Ward’s ongoing commitment to Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) prevention, community reassurance, and partnership working with local organisations.
