Dear Met Engage Team,

Please be advised of a planned youth engagement event to be carried out by Ilford Town Safer Neighbourhood Team following an invitation to attend Al- Bayan Welfare Centre on Green Lane, Ilford.

On Tuesday 13th January 2026 at 17.30/18.00, officers from Ilford Town SNT will attend Al Bayan to engage positively with young people in a safe, supportive, and community-led environment. The purpose of this engagement is to build trust and confidence in local policing, strengthen relationships with young people, and provide opportunities for open and constructive discussion around issues affecting them within the community.

During this session, officers will speak with young people about personal safety, making positive choices, and the impact and consequences of anti-social behaviour. Where appropriate, advise and guidance will be provided, and young people will be encouraged to raise any concerns or questions they may have relating to community safety or policing. Engagement will be conducted in a appropriate, age-appropriate, and respectful manner.

Officers will also liaise with Al-Bayan staff and organisers to support partnership working and promote safeguarding awareness. This engagement forms part of Ilford Town Wards ongoing commitment to early intervention, youth engagement, and community cohesion.
