Don't de-ice your vehicle for a thief!

Good Morning Resident,

With frosty mornings upon us, we'd like to remind everyone to stay vigilant when de-icing your vehicle.

Leaving your car running and unattended - even for a moment - makes it an easy target for opportunistic thieves. Every winter, vehicles are stolen from driveways and streets while owners wait inside for them to warm up. Some thieves cannot miss the opportunity when walking past a car with the engine running whilst no one is there.

To protect your vehicle:

❄️ Stay with your vehicle while it defrosts.

❄️ Use a scraper or de-icer spray instead of leaving the engine running.

❄️ Use a windscreen cover overnight to prevent ice in the first place.

❄️ Never leave keys in the ignition or doors unlocked.

❄️ Report any suspicious activity to the police immediately.
