Community Safety Reminder - Frozen Pond

Over the last three days, we have seen an increase in calls reporting people walking across the frozen Pond in Chislehurst, which has required police attendance.

We would like to remind everyone that frozen lakes and ponds are extremely dangerous regardless of the depth. Ice is thin and unstable, even when it appears solid it can break without warning.

Please ensure children and adults are made aware/reminded of the risks and told to not go onto the ice under any circumstances.

Chislehurst SNT have been in the area and have spoken to a number of individuals regarding this and will continue to do so when on duty.
