Robbery - Anticipated seasonal rise |
Dear resident
As we move into the coming months, we traditionally see a seasonal increase in robbery offences involving mobile phones, with both victims and suspects often being of school age. These incidents frequently take place on journeys to and from school, on buses and/or trains, in parks, or in public areas where young people gather. We are therefore reminding parents and carers of some simple steps that can help protect your child and their property and assist police if a phone is lost or stolen. Register your child’s mobile phone on Immobilise.com By registering a phone’s make, model, and unique IMEI number, police can quickly identify and return recovered devices to their rightful owners. Registered phones are also harder to sell on, making them less attractive to offenders. Why this matters during periods of increased robbery risk Additional safety advice for young people How to register with Immobilise.com Taking a few minutes to register your child’s mobile phone can make a real difference, particularly during periods when robbery offences increase. Thank you for your continued support in helping us keep young people safe here in Havering | ||
