Road Safety Reminder – Icy Conditions

Dear Road Users,

Please be aware that road surfaces are extremely icy and conditions are hazardous across the area. We’re urging all drivers to take extra care when travelling.

Key safety advice:

Reduce your speed and allow extra time for your journey.

Increase the distance between you and the vehicle ahead—braking distances can be 10 times longer on ice.

Avoid harsh braking or sharp steering, as this can cause you to lose control.

Drive in the highest safe gear to reduce the risk of wheel spin.

Clear all ice and snow from your windows, mirrors, lights, and roof before setting off.

If conditions worsen, only travel if absolutely necessary.
