North Wales businesses urged to book place at Wrexham crime prevention event / Busnesau Gogledd Cymru yn cael eu hannog i archebu lle mewn digwyddiad atal trosedd yn Wrecsam. |

A fully funded crime prevention event focused on businesses in North Wales is taking place in Wrexham on 5 February 2026 and business owners from across the region are being urged to book their free place and join on the day. Organised in partnership by North Wales Police’s Cybercrime Team, the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for North Wales, the Cyber Resilience Centre for Wales, and Welsh Government, the North Wales Business Crime Prevention Event is sure to be a hugely informative event looking at how to keep businesses safe from crime.
Business crime is a fast-growing area of criminality. Last year, the UK Government estimated that 26% (409,000) of all business premises in England and Wales were a victim of any commercial victimisations survey (CVS) crime during the previous 12 months. This includes burglary, vandalism, vehicle-related theft, robbery, assaults or threats, theft, and fraud. These startling figures mean that a conference such as the North Wales Business Crime Prevention Event is more important now than ever as businesses continue to grapple with a UK economy experiencing low growth and other threats to business confidence.
Topics covered will include supply chain threats; the emerging threats of AI; cyber essentials for businesses; physical security for businesses; and how securing your businesses will help assure you for the future.
This free half-day event will take place on 5 February 2026 at Redwither Tower on the Wrexham Industrial Estate, and will feature contributions from topflight speakers and organisations including:
North Wales Police and Crime Commissioner, Andy Dunbobbin, commented: “Crime against businesses is a fast-growing area of criminality and one that I am determined to fight against in North Wales. This business crime prevention event will offer business owners across the region the opportunity to come together, hear from the experts, and learn how to keep their operations safe from criminals. An event like this is crucial at a time when many businesses are struggling with the cost-of-living crisis and a sensitive economic outlook and can ill afford falling victim to crime. As such, I am delighted to be working with the Cybercrime Team at North Wales Police and other key partners to host this event and I would urge all business owners in the region to consider attending and book their place now.”
Detective Sergeant Roheryn Evans of North Wales Police said: “Crime against businesses can have a large knock-on effect against the wider community. This could be anything from your business being part of a supply chain that impacts other businesses, or if your business is financially impacted by crime, it means there will be less money in our local economy. “Crime can affect a business either physically or digitally and both are important. With this session we’ll cover how you can protect both your physical assets to prevent loss and damage to property, but also how to safeguard your digital infrastructure and what free tools and business standards can help protect you against organised crime.”

Mae trosedd busnes yn faes troseddoldeb sydd ar gynnydd yn gyflym. Y llynedd, amcangyfrifodd Llywodraeth y DU bod 26% (409,000) o'r holl adeiladau busnes yng Nghymru a Lloegr wedi dioddef unrhyw drosedd arolwg erledigaeth fasnachol (CVS) yn ystod y 12 mis blaenorol. Mae hyn yn cynnwys byrgleriaeth, fandaliaeth, lladrad sy'n gysylltiedig hefo cerbydau, lladradau, ymosodiadau neu fygythiadau, a thwyll. Bydd y pynciau a drafodir yn cynnwys bygythiadau'r gadwyn gyflenwi; bygythiadau DA sy'n dod i'r amlwg; seiber hanfodol i fusnesau; diogelwch corfforol i fusnesau; a sut y bydd diogelu eich busnesau yn tawelu eich meddwl chi ar gyfer y dyfodol.
Bydd y digwyddiad hanner diwrnod rhad ac am ddim hwn yn cael ei gynnal ar 5 Chwefror 2026 yn Nhŵr Redwither ar Stad Ddiwydiannol Wrecsam, a bydd yn cynnwys cyfraniadau gan siaradwyr a sefydliadau o'r radd flaenaf gan gynnwys:
Dywedodd Andy Dunbobbin, Comisiynydd Heddlu a Throsedd Gogledd Cymru: "Mae trosedd yn erbyn busnesau'n faes troseddoldeb sy'n cynyddu'n gyflym ac yn un dwi'n benderfynol o frwydro yn ei erbyn yng Ngogledd Cymru. Bydd y digwyddiad atal trosedd busnes hwn yn cynnig cyfle i berchnogion busnes ledled y rhanbarth ddod at ei gilydd, clywed gan yr arbenigwyr, a dysgu sut i gadw eu gweithrediadau'n ddiogel rhag troseddwyr. Mae digwyddiad fel hyn yn hanfodol ar adeg pan mae llawer o fusnesau yn cael trafferth hefo'r argyfwng costau byw a rhagolygon economaidd sensitif ac yn methu dioddef trosedd. Felly, dwi'n falch iawn o fod yn gweithio hefo'r Tîm Troseddau Seiber yn Heddlu Gogledd Cymru a phartneriaid allweddol eraill i gynnal y digwyddiad hwn. Byddwn ni'n annog pob perchennog busnes yn y rhanbarth i ystyried mynychu ac archebu eu lle rŵan."
Dywedodd Ditectif Ringyll Roheryn Evans o Heddlu Gogledd Cymru: "Gall troseddau yn erbyn busnesau gael effaith fawr yn erbyn y gymuned ehangach. Gallai hyn fod yn unrhyw beth o'ch busnes yn rhan o gadwyn gyflenwi sy'n effeithio ar fusnesau eraill, neu os ydy trosedd yn effeithio'n ariannol arno. Mae'n golygu y bydd llai o arian yn ein heconomi leol ni. "Gall trosedd effeithio ar fusnes naill ai'n gorfforol neu'n ddigidol ac mae'r ddau yn bwysig. Hefo'r sesiwn hon byddwn ni'n ymdrin hefo sut y gallwch chi warchod eich asedau corfforol er mwyn atal colli a difrod i eiddo, ond hefyd sut i ddiogelu eich seilwaith digidol a pha offer a safonau busnes am ddim all helpu i'ch gwarchod chi rhag troseddau trefnedig."
