Section 35 Dispersal Powers

Powers to disperse people committing anti-social behaviour have been authorised for officers to use in the London Borough of Lambeth this evening, under Section 35 of the ASB, Crime and Policing Act 2014. These were authorised by Inspector Martis-Jones at 1720hrs, and last from 1800hrs 31/12/25 until 1000hrs 01/01/26.

During New Years Eve, sadly we see an increase in calls to police due to incidents of anti-social behaviour. These powers are afforded to officers to help deal with these incidents, intervene early where possible, and prevent matters from escalating.
