Great Result for Lambeth – Retail Theft Investigation Leads to Conviction |
||
|
We’re pleased to share a positive outcome following a proactive investigation into a series of retail thefts affecting local businesses in Lambeth and Wandsworth. An unknown female was initially flagged through a retail information-sharing system for committing offences across multiple stores. Our neighbourhood officers in Streatham quickly identified the suspect as Stephanie Davies, aged 38, of Wandsworth. Working closely with local retailers, officers built a strong case, and Davies was circulated as wanted. Thanks to excellent teamwork, Davies was arrested by Response Team officers in Wandsworth. She was subsequently charged with 24 offences of theft from various Boots and Holland & Barrett stores across Streatham and Wandsworth. These offences amounted to over £11,000 in losses to local businesses. At court, Davies pleaded guilty to all charges and was remanded in custody. She will be sentenced at Crown Court in February. This result demonstrates the power of partnership between police and the community. By sharing information and working together, we’ve helped protect local businesses and bring offenders to justice. Thank you to our neighbourhood teams, response officers, and retail partners for their swift action and collaboration.
