Dear citizen,
Please see the below gentle reminder during these cold days and nights going into 2026.
🚨 Crime & Safety Updates — What You Need to Know 🚨
Please remember as the colder mornings set in, we want to remind everyone to take a few steps to keep your vehicle safe:
Never leave your car running unattended. Most people will leave this to defrost, thieves often target these cars the most
Use steering locks and other visible security measures
Park in well lit areas
🔎 Recent Incidents/Trends:
We have been providing local residents reassurance and advice regarding recent theft of vehicles within neighbourhood areas
We have also been around the wider areas of Aldridge, Pelsall, Brownhills and Rushall/Shelfield carrying out targeted patrols in and around vulnerable locations to deter and prevent shoplifting and shop thefts.
We have also been attending areas of concerns in regards to suspicious vehicles that have been left unattended and potentially stolen. These have been recovered and returned to the owner.
Faraday pouches have been dropped at a number of locations including Brownhills library and Streetly library for residents who pop in, to pick up free of charge. At this time these may have all been picked up.
What is a faraday pouch? A Faraday pouch is a small, signal-blocking bag, typically lined with metallic fabric, designed to shield electronic devices like key fobs, phones, and credit cards from radio signals, preventing "relay theft" (where thieves amplify key signals to unlock cars) and protecting against tracking or hacking. By creating a ‘caged’ effect, it diverts electromagnetic waves, making devices inside inaccessible to outside signals like GPS, Wi-Fi, and cellular data. 📞 How to Contact Us or Report Information 📞 💬 Stay Connected with Your Local Team: 🤝🏼 Thank you for working with us to keep your neighbourhoods safe and informed.
