New Years Celebrations |
||
|
Dear Residents,
We hope you all had a good Christmas and enjoyed the festivities.
As we approach the hour to celebrate 2026 coming in, take a moment to think about your safety, whether going out or staying in. Here are some reminders in keeping yourself and your house safe.
If going out to celebrate, let a neighbour know, give them your phone number if you are comfortable doing that, and leave a light on in your house, to deter any potential burglars seeing your property as a target. Lock all windows and doors securely.
If you are fortunate enough to have a driveway, place your vehicle on your drive, again to make any potential burglar in thinking that someone is in the house.
If you are going to celebrate the new year away from your home, please keep an eye on your drinks, and never leave them unattended, the rate of drink spiking has increased, especially during celebrations.
Try to not walk home alone, or if you have to, tell a family member that you are on your way home, and call them, as soon as you get home, to let them know you are safe.
Do not drink and drive, I know it sounds obvious, but even one alcoholic drink, can possibly push you over the limit, resulting in losing your license. Take a moment to imagine, how life would change your lifestyle if you couldn't drive any more. No driving to the shops, no driving kids to school, no driving at all. Just don't do it. Its not worth it.
Stay safe, take care, and wishing you all a happy new year. Kind Regards Bridge SNT Orchard Hub.
