Melton Rural South Police update

Dear residents of the Rural South,

I hope you All had a good Christmas and will have a happy new year.

This last few weeks have been exceptionally busy for PCSO French and I. Your monthly newsletter will be released shortly and in addition some information I would like to get across…

Rural thefts have slowed and are still relatively low but have definitely increased from previous years, we are still suffering from some thefts of vehicles and equipment from farm premises. The Rural Crime Team are on the case and I will be out to deter and respond to incidents of such thievery. It is still one of our main priorities along with reducing road casualties and drugs. 

Responding to incidents on the road take up a huge amount of our time on the rural south. The inclement weather has not helped and we ask that you help us and yourselves by driving to the conditions, using your lights appropriately (switching them on in rain or reduced visibility). Make sure your vehicle is roadworthy as well as taxed, MOT'd and insured.
