Astley Bridge: Man arrested overnight

Good Morning Resident,

In the early hours of this morning (28/12/25), we received a number of calls from concerned residents about someone walking around Broad O’th Lane and Baxendale Street in Astley Bridge. They were seen loitering near houses, pacing up and down the street and shining a torch.

Pictures and videos of this person were also shared on a local Facebook group.

Officers attended the area and a man was seen running off. He was located by officers a short distance away.

A 21-year-old man has now been arrested on suspicion of assaulting an emergency worker and possession of an imitation firearm. He remains in police custody for questioning.
