Inappropriate behaviour on buses |
||
|
Officers in plain clothes keep an eye out for inappropriate behaviour on buses We've been carrying out preventative patrols on local bus services between Saltash, Looe, and Torpoint to tackle individuals whose behaviour makes others feel uncomfortable, such as repeat or unwanted attention, or those acting drunk and disorderly. On Saturday, the atmosphere was very positive on the buses and there were no signs of predatory or concerning behaviour on this occasion. Whilst this was a positive, we are aware that this behaviour can and does happen. That’s why we’ll continue to carry out plain clothes operations like this in 2026, at different times and on different routes. Inspector Ned Bowie said: “As a force, we remain committed to tackling serious violence, violence against women and girls and sexual offences. “Plain clothes operations like these are another tactic that our officers use to pursue perpetrators, deter offending and create safer spaces for everyone."
