Problem property subject to a full closure order for 3 months

The Neighbourhood Team has been working closely with Wigan Borough Council to tackle ongoing issues linked to a problematic address on Samuel Street, Atherton.

After receiving repeated reports of persistent anti-social behaviour, disorder, criminal activity and drug use, all of which were having a negative impact on the quality of life for local residents, Wigan Borough Council, supported by Greater Manchester Police applied for a full Closure Order on the property, which was granted by Wigan & Leigh Magistrates Court on Friday 19th December 2025.

The result has only been possible thanks to the continued support of the community.  Your reports make a real difference, and we encourage residents to keep sharing their concerns through the appropriate channels so we can take action where it is needed.
