Winter of action update |
||
Positive ActionHello Resident
As a result of our Winter of Action high visibility patrols, several people have been arrested for theft offences across the area.
In the lead up to Christmas, shops will often see an increase in shoplifting. 3 people have been arrested for shoplifting offences this far, all of which will now spend the remainder of the festive season in prison. A 41-year-old man arrested and recalled to prison.
Sergeant. Louise Tew, Neighbourhood Sergeant for Rumney & St Mellons said: ‘Shoplifting causes stress, anxiety and fear among employees at the shops they target. Their behaviour is also unpleasant for members of the public that have to witness his crimes. Businesses in our community and their staff deserve to feel safe’
Do you need to speak to the police but don’t require an emergency response? You can make an online report via our website https://www.south-wales.police.uk, send us a private message via Live Chat, or call 101. In an emergency always dial 999.
