You said, we did ✔️
During our last community engagement period, you told us that speeding, vehicle crime and anti-social behaviour (ASB) were your top local priorities.
In response, Alcester Safer Neighbourhood Teams have focused on targeted patrols, crime prevention activity, and partnership working in the areas you highlighted. As a result, we’ve seen a reduction in reports of both vehicle crime and ASB over the last quarter.
Importantly, vehicle crime reports have fallen by 40% compared to the same period last year — a positive step that reflects the value of community feedback and proactive local policing. We have been supporting investigating officers with vehicle crime offences through Operation Pouch, by visiting victims and helping to join the dots to catch offenders.
You also raised concerns around road safety. In response, we have carried out speed checks and driver awareness activity across the local area, where words of advice have been given and tickets issued where appropriate. We have held Community Speed Watch information sessions and supported new Community Speed Watch schemes with speed check sessions. There are currently new Community Speed Watch Groups being set up in other areas and should be hopefully active in the new year.
Alongside this, officers have been actively engaged in Op KAVAL, targeting ASB in Earlswood, and Op LIMIT continues to focus on tackling drink and drug driving to keep our roads safer for everyone. We have also been conducting targeted foot patrols in key ASB areas as part of Operation Minwear and these will continue into the new year.
We will continue to monitor these issues closely and remain visible where it matters most. Thank you for continuing to report concerns, share information, and engage with your local policing team.
🎄 Finally, we’d like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a safe New Year. 🎄
