Christmas period |

Hello all.
As we near the big day (4 sleeps!) I'm not counting of course! Just to politely remind you that the thieves don't stop stealing for the holiday period, in fact their activity can increase as they know there are lots of unopened presents under Christmas trees so please be extra vigilant and ensure that your property is secure if you go out. Utilise security lighting inside and outside, evict the spiders and clean those CCTV camera lenses, make sure exterior doors and vehicle doors are locked and draw curtains etc to block out any view of the presents and if you're going away for the holiday period ask neighbours to keep an eye out and if they've got a second vehicle ask if they don't mind popping it on your driveway to look like someone is in, change of scenery for the car as well! In all seriousness we should be vigilant all year round but as I said, Christmas provides an ideal harvest of expensive gifts for the thieves if they can get their sticky paws on them, let's not let that happen!
In other news I was fortunate enough to attend All Saints Church Lydd earlier this month when The Band of the Brigade of Ghurkas gave yet another great performance (I was on duty, not just there for the coffee cakes and music!) and there was a large audience, even bigger than last year I believe. Not only did I have the pleasure of listening to the band but also catching up with Father Jack, Cllr Clive Goddard, Mr Mayor and Town Clerk Angela Alexander to name but a few, this is really useful for me and I hope for them as we can get up to speed on local issues.
Anyway, policing of the Marsh and District continues throughout the Christmas period so if you need us in an emergency dial 999 and any crime or anti-social behaviour that doesn't require a police car on blue lights you can report via the Kent police website online reporting tool or dial 101. Please remember if you have any information that you would like to pass on to me or PC James Hockless, i.e drug dealing or other activity that you're suspicious of please email me 13183@kent.police.uk or James 13421@kent.police.uk Your information will be treated in confidence.
Whatever you are doing over the holiday period and whether or not you are celebrating it, our best wishes to you.
Thank you Steve and James. | ||
