Driver Arrested After Whiskey Found in Car During Winter Drink Drive Patrols

On Sunday the 21st of December 2025 police in South Harrow arrested a man on Sunday after finding him sitting in a running vehicle with a bottle of whiskey during proactive patrols for the Winter Drink Drive Campaign.

Officers attended Roxeth Recreation Ground car park following reports of people drinking in the area. They discovered the man inside his car with the engine running. When asked to provide a breath sample, he refused and was arrested on suspicion of being drunk in charge of a motor vehicle.

At the station, the man later blew over the legal alcohol limit. He has been charged and bailed to appear in court.

Police are reminding drivers that drink driving risks lives and carries serious consequences. The Winter Drink Drive Campaign aims to keep roads safe during the festive season.

Uninsured Moped Seized After Careless Driving in South Harrow

On Sunday the 21st of December 2025 police in South Harrow seized a moped on Sunday after its rider pulled out in front of a patrol car during proactive Winter Drink Drive Campaign operations.

Officers reported the moped was driven carelessly before being stopped. Checks revealed the rider had no valid insurance. After confirming the offence, the driver was reported to court, and the vehicle was seized and taken to Perivale car pound.

Police continue to urge riders and drivers to ensure they are properly insured and drive responsibly to keep roads safe this festive season.
