The gift of Christmas is wrapped up for children |
||
|
West Mercia Police played Santa this week when around 700 presents were sent off to help give the gift of Christmas to children who might not otherwise get anything this year. For the past four years, officers and staff have come together to donate hundreds of presents and money through a fund-raising web page, all in support of the Mission Christmas Cash for Kids Toy Appeal. This year another 700 gifts for children of all ages, including toys, cars, puzzles, board games, stationery and books, were collected across West Mercia’s stations and offices for the charity. In a further boost to the appeal, around £200 has been raised in donations to the campaign and there is still time to do the same via our fund-raising page at this link – https://www.cashforkidsgive.co.uk/campaign/mission-christmas-2025-fundraising-midlands/fundraisers/west-mercia-police/ . All the money will be used to buy presents for the children on the support list. Detective Inspector Marie Green, who is one of the campaign organisers, said: “Thanks to all officers and staff who supported our fourth year of helping the Mission Christmas Cash for Kids appeal. “Nearly 700 presents for children who might not otherwise get a gift on Christmas Day will now receive one and many more thanks to the fund-raising contributions. “Thank you to members of the public who kindly donated this year. Together we are playing a small part in making it a Christmas much brighter for those who need it most.” | ||
