Should a person/s property get damaged this can be classed as criminal damage – ‘A person who, without lawful excuse, destroys or damages any property belonging to another, intending to destroy or damage any such property, or being reckless as to whether any such property would be destroyed or damaged.’ There has now been numerous reports of this behaviour and should this behaviour be directed towards any one household then this will be classified as harassment. Housing associations and landlords along with Walsall Council have been informed and the police will seek to act in partnership with these relevant bodies in dealing with those involved- this can place risk upon a person’s tenancy for example. West Midlands Police schools’ officers have also been contacted in the ongoing investigation to help obtain any identifications for those involved. Appropriate action will be taken against those responsible for anti-social behaviour and any criminal offences will be dealt with accordingly.
