Good afternoon Resident,
I hope you are well and feeling ready for Christmas. With only one week to go, many of you have valuable items around the house in preparation to gift them to your loved ones. It is at this time that I ask you are more vigilant than ever with seasonal activity from thieves and burglars across the county. Many of you have expressed concerns about increased burglaries, and whilst we share a similar concern, I would like to reassure you that South Wigston still remains statistically low in comparison to other areas. That is not to say that no such issue exists, but rather, that we can take some comfort in the fact that less burglaries happen in this area than many others.
An appeal for YOUR help Unfortunately, we were called to attend a burglary in the Fairfield Estate, Cardigan Drive, which took place at around 17:30hrs - 18:00hrs on Tuesday 16 December 2025. The suspects smashed the front window, reached in and the occupant shouted for help, causing the male suspects to flee, one of whom was wearing a high visibility jacket. We have carried out a CCTV trawl and we have some footage of the suspects who were wearing face coverings. We suspect that they parked up nearby, possibly on Kenilworth Drive, in a black SUV vehicle.
Did you see a suspicious black SUV parked up at approximately 17:30hrs on 16 December in the Cardigan Drive area of South Wigston Fairfield Estate?
If you have any information that may assist us in our investigation, please either respond to this message directly, or call 101 and quote reference 25000734532.
