Live Facial Recognition operation – Brixton

Yesterday, our teams ran a targeted Live Facial Recognition operation from 11:30am to 6:00pm in Brixton.

This resulted in 12 arrests in just 6 hours. The majority were presented to the courts this morning. We also engaged with individuals subject to court conditions to ensure compliance.

Community support was fantastic, and notably half of those arrested were not Lambeth residents—underscoring Brixton’s importance as a focus for keeping people safe.

This was our 4th operation bringing the total number of arrests to 55 for Live Facial Recognition in Brixton, we plan further operations in 2026 to help keep Brixton safe for the community and the businesses that make it the cultural hub it is.
