11 ELVES-EVEN GET SCAMMED: NOBODY IS IMMUNE FROM FRAUD. Fraudsters use a variety of ways to contact their victims – by phone call often pretending to be an authority – by text message sending fake texts with links attached. Through email both those that appear to be directed to you personally or a phishing email. Door to door = bogus traders or bogus tradesmen – these are just a few and evolving all the time.
12 12 FRAUDS OF CHRISTMAS: pay a visit to Crimestoppers or action frauds website where they list the most common frauds associated with the festive period – sadly, they are still very much in operation. The websites tell you what to look out for and how you can protect yourselves. This is a time for joy and sadly the impact of fraud can be very damaging, mentally, emotionally and financially.
We would like to wish you all good tidings and as stated before: if you believe you have been a victim of fraud, please contact Report Fraud, 101 or submit an online report so we can determine how best to proceed
