Successful Investigation By Olympic Park SNT Disrupts E-Bike Battery Theft Operation

Officers from Olympic Park SNT have successfully brought an end to a linked series of E-Bike battery thefts that were causing significant financial losses to Lime Bike.

Following reports of multiple stolen batteries, a thorough investigation was launched. Enquiries revealed that the stolen batteries were being reconditioned and resold through online marketplaces, including Vinted and eBay.

PC Rob Brady, identified a suspect linked to the offences and swiftly progressed the investigation by securing a warrant to search the suspect’s address. During the execution of the warrant, the male was present at the property.

Officers discovered and seized 22 E - Bike batteries, all of which were confirmed to be the property of Lime Bike.

This proactive investigation has not only recovered stolen property but has also disrupted an ongoing theft operation.
