As we approach the festive season, please be aware that burglary rates can sometimes rise around this time. People often head away on holiday or leave valuable items visible, which can attract unwanted attention.

Here are a few tips to help keep your home safe and ensure the Christmas Grinch doesn’t pay you a visit:

1. Secure Doors and Windows

Make sure your premises is secure when you leave.

2. Keep Valuables Out of Sight

Don’t leave gifts visible through windows.

Store expensive items in a safe or hidden location.

3. Neighbourhood Watch

Inform neighbours if you’ll be away.

4. Car Security

Don’t leave gifts in your car overnight.

5. Delivery Safety

Use secure parcel boxes, lockers, or request signature delivery.

If you see someone acting suspiciously or looking into people’s homes, please contact the police immediately.
