Community Patrol Update – Deansgate and Castlefield

PC Riaz, PC Gregory and PC Pennington were recently on patrol in and around Deansgate, responding to concerns raised by local residents about crime and road safety. During their proactive policing activity, several individuals were stopped and searched in the city centre.

While on Deansgate, officers witnessed a vehicle with Kuwaiti number plates drive through a red traffic light. The vehicle was stopped and checks revealed the driver had been living in the UK for over two years. The vehicle was seized under Section 165 of the Road Traffic Act and the driver was reported.

Greater Manchester Police remain committed to listening to the issues raised by local residents and taking firm action where necessary. we will continue to work alongside residents to make Deansgate, Castlefield and the wider city centre a safer place for everyone.
