The Bondi Attack |
||
|
The thoughts of all of us at the Metropolitan Police are with the loved ones of those who have been killed or injured in the terrible attack in Sydney at the weekend.
It is a harsh reality that Jewish communities worldwide continue to face elevated threats. As London’s Jewish community gathers to celebrate Hanukkah, this attack brings not only deep distress but also a heightened sense of concern for safety.
I would like to stress that there is no indication of any connection between the attack in Sydney and the current threat level in London but regardless we have increased our police presence both on general patrol and at relevant events.
This continues close engagement with the Jewish community to understand what further measures we can take to reassure and support over the coming days and weeks.
As ever we encourage the public to be vigilant at events and in public places. If you see anything suspicious, trust your instincts and tell us.
In an emergency, always call 999.
