Winter Fuel Payment Scam

Hi Resident,

There has been a rise in reports of Winter Fuel Payment scams across Greater Manchester. 

As a general rule, you should treat any unsolicited emails or texts asking for your bank details with suspicion. 

The fact that a fake website says you can provide credit card details in addition to debit cards is a clear indication it's a fake as it would make no sense getting a benefit paid in this way. 

Scammers thrive on fear and confusion. By staying informed and cautious, you can protect yourself and help others avoid falling victim.
