Operation Skybridge Deployment |
||
|
Good afternoon Resident.
You may be aware by now that Op Skybridge are currently deployed around Sutton Coldfield, supporting the local neighbourhood and response teams in tackling crimes such as Robbery, Burglary, Vehicle and Drug crime.
Vehicle crime: Use a steering lock where possible. Utilise a Faraday pouch which can block key signals. Remove all items from your vehicle, including anything that can be perceived as valuable.
Burglary: Ensure all windows and doors are secured, especially in hours of darkness. Consider installing CCTV, Video doorbells, Alarm systems and security lighting. As we see a rise in lock snapping, these types of offences can be committed quickly. Consider installing anti-snap locks to better protect your property - simply google "Anti Snap Locks" for more information.
Robbery: Be aware of your surroundings. Avoid handling cash and valuables in public. Trust your instincts!
Drug crime: Report anything you believe relevant to us via Webchat or 101. Alternatively, you can send anything into our team via email: Opskybridge@westmidlands.police.uk - We will review everything that comes in and act accordingly. This could include pro-active patrols, or developing the information further for enforcement action.
As the nights get darker earlier and the festive period draws ever closer, help us by trusting your instincts and reporting anything you feel is suspicious. Vehicle registrations, times dates and descriptions can all help us tackle crime.
Keep an eye on West Midlands Police and Birmingham Police social media channels to keep up to date with our work.
Kind regards, Op Skybridge | ||
