South Leicester Police - Safer Winter Streets.

Dear South Leicester Resident

You are receiving the following email as a resident living on the Freemen Police Beat.

December saw the launch of the Safer Winter Streets initiative a government lead program aimed at tackling retail crime, reducing anti-social behaviour (ASB) and the further strengthening of community relationships by increasing police visibility. 

The initiative will run until the end of January 2026 and is essentially the same as the Safer Summer Streets campaign but will run during the winter. The previous campaign was a huge success not just in the South Leicester area but force wide and will aim to achieve the same results. 

Officers from across the South Leicester area will be out speaking to local businesses, engaging with partner agencies and will be visibly patrolling hotspot locations, all aimed at making communities safer places to live and work in.

Updates of action taken, and positive results will be published on our dedicated Facebook page, South Leicester Police, locally officers will be out and about so please feel free to speak to us and raise any concerns.
