Neighbourhood officers alongside our Inspector were out in Middleton town centre to deter/prevent shoplifting offences in the run up to christmas.

On Wednesday 10th December With the help of eagle eyed store staff, two prolific shoplifters were arrested for making off without payment and have  been dealt with accordingly.

Shoplifting significantly impacts retailers, consumers, and communities.

Retailers face financial losses, increased security cost, and potential store closures.

Handling stolen goods is a criminal offence and can carry a maximum sentence of up to fourteen years.
