Good afternoon We’ve seen recent incidents where thieves are targeting homes to steal car keys and vehicles: Swift Way, Sandal (Sunday, 7 December): A Ford Transit van and a BMW M4 were stolen after suspects forced entry through a rear patio door. They also stole a Santa Cruz Nomad mountain bike from the garage.Pledwick Grove (Saturday, 6 December): Suspects attempted to break in via an outer side door, likely aiming for a vehicle on the driveway, but were unsuccessful.How to Protect Your Home and Vehicles Remove car keys from sight: Keep them out of sight and away from windows or glazed doors.Set your house alarm: Always activate it before going to bed.Add extra security to your vehicle: - Install an immobiliser requiring a unique PIN or code before the car starts.
- Use visible deterrents like a steering wheel lock.
