We’re listening and taking action on burglary concerns this Christmas.

We know the festive season should be a time to relax, not worry about crime.

Unfortunately, burglars often see Christmas as an opportunity, targeting homes for gifts and valuables. Our officers are carrying out extra patrols in your area and working with partners to keep communities safe.

How you can protect your home:

Keep doors and windows locked even when you’re at home.

Don’t leave presents in view of windows.

Use timer switches for lights to make your home look occupied.

If you’re going away, ask a trusted neighbour to keep an eye on your property.

Avoid posting holiday plans or expensive gifts on social media.

How to report suspicious behaviour:

Call 999 if a crime is in progress or someone is in danger.

For non-emergencies, call 101 or report online via your local police website.

You can also report anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Include as much detail as possible such as location, time, descriptions of people or vehicles.
