SHOP CLOSED DUE TO ILLEGAL TRADING

Tamworth Community Safety Partnership have taken urgent action to protect the public and tackle illegal trading in our town centre.

In partnership with Staffordshire Police and Staffordshire County Council, Tamworth Borough Council has secured a court-ordered closure of Ezee Shop on Bolebridge Street after repeated seizures of illegal and suspected counterfeit tobacco products.

Following an initial 48-hour notice issued on 9th December, Cannock Magistrates’ Court granted an extended closure order for a further three months, pending ongoing investigations. Closure notices have been served on both the business owner and the shop landlord.

The action represents a strong and coordinated response by the Tamworth Community Safety Partnership, bringing together Tamworth Borough Council, Staffordshire County Council Trading Standards, and Staffordshire Police to disrupt criminal activity and keep local people safe.
