Rural Task Force officers have recovered tens of thousands of pounds worth of stolen vehicles. Officers received a report on Sunday, 26 November 2025, of a tracker signal from a vehicle believed to have been stolen from the Wakefield area. Trackers play a vital role in helping officers locate stolen vehicles quickly, and in this case, the signal led officers to Goole. Acting swiftly, the team deployed and, using specialist equipment traced the signal to a workshop in Goole. Inside, officers discovered a stolen BMW, along with two other vehicles believed to have been stolen from the area of Norfolk and London, and numerous vehicle parts. Over £1,000 in cash was seized, and a 34-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, conspiracy to commit burglary dwelling, and conspiracy to steal from another. He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue. In addition to this over the last two days 10th and 11th December RTF QSMVE ( Qualified Stolen Motor Vehicle Examiners have examined and identified six more vehicles that were suspected stolen, or cloned and used in crime. These recoveries underline how persistence, technology, and collaboration can make a significant impact in tackling vehicle and machinery theft. By acting quickly on tracker alerts and working closely with partner agencies, officers were able to locate and recover high-value items before they could be moved or dismantled. This joined-up approach helps ensure stolen property is returned to its rightful owners and reduces the impact of crime on businesses and communities.
