Appeal after woman seriously injured following RTC in Ipswich |

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision in Ipswich today.
Officers were called at 7:22am, today Thursday 11 December 2025, to reports of a collision on Burrell Road involving a woman pedestrian and a silver BMW car. The driver failed to stop and left the scene.
The woman sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision and has been taken to hospital where her condition is described as life-threatening.
Following the collision police located the car believed to have be involved in Ipswich and arrested a man in his 30’s in connection with the incident. He has been taken to Martlesham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.
The junction of Burrell Road and Willoughby Road remains closed at this time while forensic investigation work into the circumstances of the collision continues. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes.
Officers are appealing for witnesses and asking any motorists driving in the area with a dashcam fitted in their vehicle, to review the footage for any material that may be of assistance.
