Nottingham Knockers- Sutton Hill |
||
|
Dear Resident, We are urging the public to be vigilant after ‘Nottingham Knockers’ have been calling at homes in Sutton Hill. On the evening of Monday 08th December 2025, police received several calls from residents of Stirling Drive and Mimosa Close, reporting two men visiting homes in the area, trying to sell household items from a large bag. ‘Nottingham Knocker’ is a term given to, traditionally, younger men who go from door to door, selling household products. They often provide a story stating they are allowed to sell in the area and present it as a rehabilitation scheme. However their ‘ID cards’ are often fake and the sales pitches can also be part of a wider operation to identify burglary targets. A number of males were located and directed by PCSO 6275 Turley to leave the area. DO NOT purchase anything from these type of sales people. DO NOT let them in to your home. NEVER hand over any cash on your doorstep. If you feel threatened, close the door and call the police. If you have elderly or vulnerable relatives, friends or neighbours please share this message with them so that we can help to keep them safe. Kind Regards, Amy (PCSO Newbrook 40337). | ||
