Dear Resident,
Proactive Patrol get results in Harrow on the Hill.
On Wednesday the 10th of December 2025 officers from the South Harrow Tasking Team were on proactive patrols in the Harrow on The Harrow on the Hill Ward when their attention was drawn to a vehicle travelling along Northolt Road/South hill Avenue. Officers conducted Intel checks and found that the vehicle had previously been stopped and the driver was found to be driving without a license. Officers stopped the vehicle and the driver only had a provisional license and admitted to having no insurance. The vehicle was seized as a result and the driver reported to court.
This is another example of Harrow Police taking dangerous vehicles off of the road and ensuring that drivers face the consequences of driving illegally.
'Uninsured driving remains a huge problem in the UK. Every 20 minutes, someone in the UK is impacted by an uninsured or hit-and-run driver, with one person each day suffering life-altering injuries. The issue is estimated to cost the UK economy £1bn every year, including compensation for victims, emergency services, medical costs and loss of productivity. Uninsured driving is often linked with wider criminal activity including drug running, drink-driving, speeding and money laundering.
Uninsured drivers receive a £300 fixed penalty notice, six points on their licence, whilst their seized vehicle may even end up crushed. If the case goes to court, the uninsured driver may also receive an unlimited fine and even a driving ban. Being caught driving uninsured can affect every part of their life – a loss of your independence, an inability to care for dependents (such as taking their children to school), and even affected job prospects as a driving conviction can show up on background searches.' mib.org.uk
