Recent increase in burglaries in Alum Rock / Saltley area

Dear Resident,

Recently over the last week or so there has been a slight increase of burglaries in the Alum Rock/Saltley area where some of the offender(s) have gained access via unlocked doors/windows. Our officers continue to investigate these offences and are carrying out targeted patrols to gather evidence and apprehend the offender(s).

A lot of thieves are opportunistic and checks door handles and windows for easy access to your property. Please remember to ensure that all doors and windows are locked even when you are inside your property and keep valuables out of sight. You can also consider the security of your household such as installing CCTV / Floodlights at front and rear of the property. Anti snap locks on doors, sash stops on windows.
