Prolific Offender caught- Lower Marsh |
||
|
On 8th December 2025, officers from the Waterloo and Southbank team arrested one of the area’s most prolific offenders in Lower Marsh for a shoplifting offence involving over £400 worth of goods.
This arrest follows previous action by the same team on 22nd September, when the offender was charged with five offences and sentenced to 33 weeks in prison. On arrest on this occassion, the suspect admitted he had only been released from prison a few days earlier.
Yesterday, at Croydon Magistrates’ Court, the offender pleaded guilty and received a 10-week prison sentence. This marks the fourth case this year where your local team has successfully caught, arrested, and brought charges against this individual.
Across Lambeth, we remain committed to targeting the most prolific offenders who cause the greatest harm to our local businesses.
As the retail crime lead, I urge local businesses to report prolific offenders who are persistently targeting your premises. If you provide evidence such as CCTV footage and statements supporting prosecution, we will ensure these offenders are caught and brought to justice. Thank you to the team for their continued hard work and dedication to keeping our community safe! | ||
