VAWG meeting |

Good afternoon resident,
On Monday, 8 December Havering hosted a Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Innovation Hub, in Romford as part of the 16 Days Of Action against violence.
It brought partners together to open up conversations about what we’re doing and how we can support each other. We heard from different speakers from different agencies around safeguarding and different support groups available to people. We were moved by survivor Gladys Ediale story and her inspiration to establish Strength of a Queen, a support network for women of domestic abuse. It was a collaborative, honest session sharing stories, ideas, and best practice to strengthen our collective response to violence against women and girls. Acting Inspector Jayshree Patel said: “Real change happens when we listen, learn and act together and yesterday showed the power of partnership.”
