Man arrested as part of hotspot patrols |
||
|
A man has been arrested on suspicion of public order offences as part of our ongoing hotspot patrols. Officers were patrolling around Newcastle-under-Lyme town centre on Thursday (4 December), when a man rode past them on a pushbike and made threats towards them. The man cycled off but was arrested a short distance away. When he was arrested, he kicked officers, resulting in a minor injury. A 31-year-old man, from Newcastle-under-Lyme, has been arrested on suspicion of using threatening / abusive / insulting words / behaviour with intent to cause fear of / provoke unlawful violence and common assault of an emergency worker. He has since been released under investigation. We are committed to maintaining a visible presence in hotspot areas across Staffordshire and would encourage residents to report any issues to us. | ||
