New Officers on the Streets of Acton

Over the past 10 days, PS Zealey, PC Dale and PC Loveday have been guiding four new trainee detectives through their first steps as Police Officers in the Metropolitan Police.

During this time, we’ve been out on patrol, supporting them through their first stop-and-searches, arrests, and interviews. It’s been a busy and productive period, with each trainee securing an arrest and contributing to disrupting crime and anti-social behaviour in the area.

Highlights include:

Responding to a report of a suspected drug deal behind the old town hall, where three suspects were detained. One male was arrested after being identified as a suspect in a violent offence.

Locating a vulnerable woman who had absconded from hospital while detained under the Mental Health Act. Although initially resistant, she was safely returned and appeared relieved to be back in familiar surroundings.

Arresting a man banned from Acton under a Community Behaviour Order.

Arresting a street drinker who breached his banning order after being warned to leave the area, only to return within the hour.

Arresting a male in Morrisons car park for possession of stolen items, an unpaid Santander bike, and breaching his Community Protection Notice.

Having the trainees on board not only allows us to train and develop new officers but also temporarily strengthens our team, enabling us to achieve significantly more in tackling crime and safeguarding the community
