Nighttime Economy patrols - Newport

Good afternoon Resident,

PC Williams was out on foot patrol in Newport during the evening of Saturday 6th December.

As part of her patrols, she visited licenced premises to discuss the nighttime economy during the run up to Christmas. This period often sees an increase in alcohol related reports to the police.

These patrols and visits allow us to build a good working relationship with licencees, bar staff and door supervisors which helps us to support businesses and reduce the likelihood of crime or anti-social behaviour. Officers will continue to be on patrol during this festive period.

PC Williams has left a quantity of anti-spiking stickers at these premises, that can be used to cover the top of your drink. These stickers prevent anyone from adding anything to your drink. As we approach the festive season it is important to stay vigilant for your own safety. If you feel that you would want to use a sticker while out, then just ask at the bar.
