Mopeds driving on the footpath

Officers from the Larkswood and Valley Safer Neighbourhood teams conducted a joint patrol with the Waltham Forest anti-social behaviour officer in the Chingford Mount E4 area.

A moped rider was stopped and issued with a section 59 warning for driving his vehicle carelessly/inconsiderately on a footpath. This is a 12 month warning against the vehicle and the driver, meaning a second offence within a year allows police to seize the vehicle, which can then be crushed if not reclaimed after paying fees.
