Hello South Wales Police is Cracking Down on Crime This Christmas We've produced some top tips to keep you and your property safe this festive season
Stay Safe at Home · Don't put your Christmas presents near a window · Dispose your Christmas packaging - Empty boxes outside advertise what you have in your home · Lock all door, close all windows and make sure you remove keys from sight · Consider when you have deliveries - Don't ask for parcels to be left on doorsteps, in porches or behind bins. Ask a neighbour if the will accept parcels for you Stay Safe Online · Make sure websites are secure before using them - Look for the padlock icon and make sure web addresses start with https · If something seems to good to be true, it probably is · Remember reputable websites will offer secure payment · Never give bank details over the web unless paying securely and never give your PIN number Stay Safe Whilst Shopping · Never leave your bags unattended · Keep your purses/wallet in an inside pocket and keep any handbags closed · Keep your car windows closed and lock the doors · Don't leave your purchases in full view in the car, keep them in the boot Stay Safe Going Out · Plan how your getting home in advance and only use licensed taxis/firms · Stay together if in large groups and look after each other · Keep your valuables and belongings with you - Don't let out of your sight · Keep a close eye on your drinks and don't accept drinks from stranger especially if you have not seen them being poured · If someone is making you feel uncomfortable let a staff member know or call 101/999 · Never drive under the influence of drive or drugs - Remember you could still be over the limit the following day
