Drive Sober, Live Safer: Standing Against Violence

This week I have been on training to keep women and girls safer. On nights out at pubs and clubs Women and girls can get harassed or worse. This time of year we have lots of work parties and friends getting together. 

Trained officers will be out and about on streets around the Christmas period. Know your limits of alcohol and look out for your friends. Research shows lots of incidents against women and girls had a bystander that didn’t do anything. This could be a crying girl in the toilet, an inappropriate joke in the work place or inappropriate touching. If you see something say. Ask if they are ok and report to management at work, Bar staff or police.

West Mercia Police are standing against violence against women and girls

Alcohol can not only cause people to make bad decision that they regret on a night out it also effects you the next day. People think because they have slept they wont be over the drink drive limit, this is untrue! 

Know your limits don’t drink and drive. After a night out drinking until the early hours don’t drive in the morning. Be safe! Be legal!

Today I have been out on SILVERWOODS WAY with a great operation lead by, your very own, PCSO CHATER. We have been out giving words of advice about speed and breath testing drivers. Details and images about this have/will been sent separately.

We aim to keep the roads safer over the Christmas period and throughout the year.

I have also been at Grace Church on Greatfield Road for a police surgery. I got to chat to lots of adults and children. The aim was to promote visibility in the dark. It is now dark in the mornings and afternoons so wear something visible. I have given out some reflective patches to children to wear. And made everyone aware of the hazards of wearing all dark clothing.
