Dear residents and local businesses,
Here is a roundup of what the Foleshill Neighbourhood team officers have been doing this week.
OUR Priorities
Our priorities are now business crime, this is an issue all over the north east and officers are proactively patrolling the affected areas. We have officers in plain clothes aswell as in hi visibility uniform. This week two regular offenders of business crime were arrested and charged with shop lifting and a recall to prison. These offenders will be put before the court for sentencing in the near future.
Officers were also continuing their hi visibility patrols at the Gallagher retail park. This week officers visited the location with crime prevention items. Officers were armed with purse bells, window alarms, segment timers amongst other things. These items were given out free along with crime prevention advice. The afternoon was very busy with shoppers officers received positive feedback from lots of interactions.
Shop theft is still a big issue on the retail park this week officers have completed a plain clothes operation targeting prolific offenders, this week a prolific shop lifter was arrested and charged with 4 separate incidents, enquiries will be ongoing
IN OTHER NEWS
This week North east officers have completed a information workshop session at Coventry university. This was a great opportunity for students who are interested in a career in policing to get a small insight into daily tasks and duties.
New barriers have been placed at the entrance to the car park for the Range on Austin this was in relation to previous ASB with vehicles being in the car park after shops closing playing loud music and erratic driving, officers have worked hard in the area putting a stop to this anti social behaviour and the barriers are the latest deterrent to keep unwanted vehicles out after hours.
This week officers have completed community speed watch in various locations. This is after feedback from residents concerned about speeding drivers in the local area. PCSO have also been out with residents completing street watch walks. We are always on the lookout for speed watch and street watch volunteers so if this is something that interests you please do get in touch
