Weekly Update! |
||||||||||||
Good evening Resident, It’s that time of the week again, another set of shifts over and I can finally bring you another weekly update. It’s been a busy week for my team this week as we have had a few officers off sick… including myself😒
What’s Been Happening
Arrests – City centre officers made five arrests this week in connection with a range of incidents. After the Wolverhampton team received three separate calls about the same male, he was initially sent home in a taxi, but was later arrested by West Bromwich officers for being drunk and disorderly. Two other males were detained on a recall to prison due to poor behaviour, while another was arrested for theft following enquiries in the area. In a separate incident, a male wanted on suspicion of rape handed himself in at the police station’s front office, where he was taken into custody.
Community Engagement – PCSOs Wykes and Spittle attended the college freshers event at the new Wolverhampton College Bilston Street campus, engaging with around 170 students and teachers. They offered a range of safety advice, handed out useful freebies, and took the opportunity to get a few photos with students. Their presence helped create a friendly and approachable atmosphere for new starters settling into college life.
PCSO Wykes also attended two police surgeries at the Nationwide Bank and Halifax, focusing on fraud and scam awareness in the lead-up to Christmas. These sessions were aimed at helping members of the public recognise common financial threats and protect themselves during a time when scam attempts often increase.
PC Moore-Harbach took part in a round-table meeting at St George’s Hub, speaking with professionals and several male victims of domestic violence. The session provided valuable insight and offered a supportive space for meaningful discussion, as well as an opportunity to strengthen collaborative working with partner agencies.
Finally, Officers from Team 2 joined the cadets on Wednesday for a “Meet Your Neighbourhood Team” event inside the fan zone at the Molineux. They spent time talking to home fans, engaging with the community, and helping to keep spirits high—regardless of whether Wolves secured the win.
Guardian Patrols – The usual Guardian Patrols this week with nothing much to report, it looks like the Football was quiet as well.
Night-Time Economy – Just tonight to look forward to for our Night Time Economy and its the start of our ‘Silent Night’ patrols where our officers are out a little later than usual. As always i'll update you next week if anything happens tonight.
